Midweek Modelling 25/1

How to magnetize a Terrorgheist

I got my hands on a Terrorgheist kit over the holidays and recently decided to put it together. It´s a very nice kit and it´s absolutely huge as well. I was really wondering how I´d transport the darn thing if I´d had to go somewhere for a game.

That´s when I decided this would be the perfect opportunity for me to try my hand at magnetizing a model . I´ve done some magnet work for my Dystopian Wars CoA fleet, making all my turrets swappable, but hadn´t tried anything more complex.

So, for today’s instalment of Midweek Modelling I thought I’d show you how I went about doing it.

Here´s the finished product.

Extra! Extra!

As promised, here is the second part of yesterday's post. I'll be doing a quick review of the Covenant of Antarctica faction for Dystopian Wars as well as provide some follow up thoughts on my Campaign Conundrum from yesterday. (Campaign Conundrum; I like that name. Has a nice ring to it.) Also, be warned, I'm using the blogger app for this post, so there's every risk the layout will be eaten when I upload. Won't be able to fix that until tomorrow morning, so apologies in advance if that happens.

Alright, let's get reviewin'!

Monday Morning Gamer 23/1

Hello and welcome to this week´s Monday Morning Gamer here on Thunderstomp! Once again it is long past morning for me (have I even ever posted MMG on a Monday Morning?), but I like the alliteration of the title and therefore will keep it! I mean, if it works for Peter King, it should damn well be good enough for me! (Awesome weekly football column, that, btw. I’ve been reading it every week for years and years and it never disappoints. If you like NFL football this is for you.) Anyway! What have I in store for you today? Well, continuing on from last week I have some more stuff on Dystopian Wars for you, starting with some of my thoughts on the actual rules and general gameplay. Tomorrow I’ll dip an inexperienced toe in the ocean that is DW army/faction reviewing and run through my DW faction, the Covenant of Antarctica, based on the DW knowledge I have now. I’m sure my perceptions will change as I play more games, but I’ll just redo the review at a later time! I don’t have time to do a one today, so I’ll just promise to do it tomorrow!

Off we go!

Game Night! 20-1

Hello and welcome to another edition of Game Night! here on Thunderstomp! This is usually the place where I talk about games I have played and suchlike. Today’s installment of Game Night! will focus mostly on Dystopian Wars, a game I talked about in Wednesday’s post. Also, I’ll start with some general info for those of you interested in joining me in a Blood in the Badlands campaign. I talked about it a while ago and this seems as good a time as any to provide some initial info so that all those who said they’d want to join can get started with planning their armies!

Right, off we go!

Midweek Modelling 18-1

Yes, it's picture time again! I've been busy over the past few weeks and managed to get some stuff done. Here's what I've been up to:

Guess who´s Back!

(actually, the title is a pretty good song by hip hop legend Rakim. You should listen to it)

It seems somewhat apt to return from a form of Blog demise (or torpor at the very least) in the week that Vampire Counts have been re-released  (honestly, not swayed by Balephon’s comment at all, really). So here I am, back to entertain you with my gaming mumblings, showing you what I have been up to and what’s going on in my mind, gamewise!

So let’s get this show back on the road. I’ll just call this my “ I’m back, b!tches” post and do a Midweek Modelling one right after this one (as should be Thunderstomp! standard for a Wednesday). Really, even though I haven’t been blogging, I have been painting and modelling, so I have some stuff to show you there as well.

First things first though! What do I have for you today? I’ll take a quick look at the new Vampire Counts book and do a First Thoughts kinda thing, to see what I think will happen once we’ve played a few games with the book and which units stand out. Secondly I’ll take a look to another game me and my mates have started playing looking for a new challenge. It’s got to do with boats (no, not that dreaded Dreadfleet, come on now…) and let me tell you, it’s caught on like wildfire.
